about me

I’m Claniel Le, a junior FX artist with a background in video production.I hold a Bachelor of Film from SAE and worked as a videographer and editor at Films & Television Agency from 2018–2024.

I began learning Houdini in 2024, and in 2025 I completed the Master of Animation & Visualisation at UTS Animal Logic Academy, specialising in FX. I’m currently building work focused on fire, smoke, RBD, particles, and water FX — both stylised and photorealistic — with the goal of contributing to film and animation projects.

Outside of videography and VFX, dancing is my long-term passion, which keeps me both physically active and creatively engaged. The principles I’ve learned in dance translate directly to Houdini and FX work. Dance has taught me an intuitive understanding of flow, rhythm, and motion, enabling me to break down complex movements and anticipate how objects or characters should move—skills that are essential for creating simulations that feel realistic or convincingly stylised. Beyond movement, dance has trained me in precision, timing, and speed, which directly informs how I approach matching reference and executing simulations efficiently in Houdini. The discipline of practicing routines repeatedly until they feel natural mirrors my approach to mastering FX techniques, helping me develop both muscle memory and a mental framework for tackling complex effects under production constraints.
